A company called predicto charged 9.99 to each of the 4 lines on my cell phone plan. No one using any of these lines approved the charges and I didn't even know about them untill I asked my self why my bill was 40 more then usual. I did some research and found out that this company has one this before to a lot of people so make sure to check your bill and if you see it call in to you provider and have the charges credited.

sorry to hear about that happening and it proves that it does pay to check your bills for overcharges monthly... Any idea how they were able to do it?

I don’t know, after I noticed the charges I did a little research about this company and it looks like they have been doing this for like 3 years. On the companies web site it says that they send you a text message and you have to agree to the TOS and then they start charging you and I know for a fact they I or anyone who is on my plan didn’t contact them.
Actually Kurt I know for a fact that your name drops off of the DNC Registry after I think 5 years. Now from rumors that I have heard if you do not re-register they sell your info to who ever want’s it.
I used to be a telemarketer so I have first hand knowledge on how these people get your info. It is wrong but nothing on the law books says its illegal so we are stuck.

Thanks for the heads up on this... I suggest we all keep an eye out for these type scams so what is it that they are trying or acting like they are trying to sell?

Actually they would have to prove that you were the one that agreed to the charge... it could fall under forgery or something similar otherwise... but that is another issue considering that the amount is so small that it would cost more to sue them than you could possibly get back from them and that is often how these type scams work: they count on people not taking action against them because the amount is so small and the time to pursue it isn't worth the effort to most people thanks again for the heads up

Yeah from the blogs I read of people this has happened to the cell companioes are going to sew them which makes sense becuase AT&T gave me a $60 credit for this, multiply that by a few thousand customers and you are getting in to some big $$$$$ something worth sewing them for.
